Providers: questions

Does an AT&T ISP proxy mean an AT&T home connection?

No. The address is registered to AT&T and announced by its network, but the server sits in a data center. Sites see AT&T as the owner of the IP; no AT&T subscriber is behind it.

Can I choose the provider?

When the checkout lists it. Availability by state, city and internet provider varies; the checkout shows what is online. The price does not change with the provider.

How do I check the provider of an IP?

Look up its AS number with a whois or routing tool such as RIPEstat. Our guide find an IP’s ISP and ASN shows three ways.
